For the first time, Colombia at the International Coffee and Cocoa Fair in Iran

Young coffee entrepreneurs and Kankuama leaders from Cesar and Magdalena open markets and cultural agenda in the Persian country.

Colombian coffee will take center stage at the most important fair in Iran and the region. A group of young coffee entrepreneurs and a Kankuama leader from Cesar and Magdalena will participate in the 5th International Coffee and Cocoa Fair in Isfahan, Iran from January 17th to 20th, featuring coffee from the Serranía del Perijá and the Sierra Nevada regions, accompanied by the Tejarat Colombia Business Platform, an opportunity for participants to establish commercial and international cooperation relationships in the territory.

The fair is attended by more than 100 countries. From Latin America, Brazil has been the only participant. In 2023, it was a resounding success in terms of commercial relations and investment opportunities. It was visited by approximately 16,000 people and business deals totaling more than 1 billion dollars were closed in the three products: coffee, cocoa, and confectionery.

The coffee grown in the mountains of the department of Cesar is now one of the best coffees in Colombia for its quality and smoothness. It benefits from an ideal climate and nutrient-rich soil, as well as from the ancestral indigenous knowledge that is part of the coffee culture of the department of Cesar.

Producers and marketers Jorge Cabrera, David José Rangel, Luis Evelio González, Tatiana Hernández, Barista Danilson Ortíz, and Kankuama artisan Kenny Delgado will be representing brands such as Café Morning, Café Delgonz, Café Rayito de Luna, Hause World Coffee, Abril Coffee Company, Café Don Ramón, and Serkpac. They will be exploring new business opportunities and commercial exchanges between both countries and the region. This group attended the event "Encuentro de Sabores y Tradiciones" organized by the Tejarat Colombia Business Platform at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bogotá last November.

This fair represents a great opportunity for this group of young entrepreneurs, who are part of the Coffee and Handicrafts Cluster of Cesar, as it provides them with the possibility to expand their markets and share knowledge about bean selection, roasting methods, and their impacts on creating unique flavor profiles.
With a business agenda that has high expectations for purchases, both by business groups from the region and those from the Persian country. It is the first time that Colombian coffee entrepreneurs open markets and a cultural agenda showcasing the country's craftsmanship.
